Where Learning Begins

At East Village Early Learning, we believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment where they can grow, explore, and thrive. Founded by two passionate educators with a shared vision for early childhood education, our center is dedicated to building strong, supportive relationships between children, families, and teachers. We understand that a child’s first learning experiences shape their confidence and love for discovery, and we strive to ensure that every child feels valued, respected, and inspired to learn each day.

We embrace a learning-through-play philosophy, recognizing that children learn best when they are engaged, curious, and having fun. Our play-based approach encourages creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration, helping children develop not only academic skills but also essential social, emotional, and physical abilities. By fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere, we create opportunities for children to form meaningful connections with their teachers and peers—laying the foundation for lifelong learning and success.

At East Village Early Learning, our mission is simple: to provide a joyful, caring environment where every child can flourish and every family feels supported as part of our community.

Meet the Owners Mia and Robyn

East Village Early Education was founded by Mia and Robyn with a clear and shared vision to create a refined, calm and inspiring early learning environment that feels both exceptional in quality and deeply personal in its approach.

As a privately owned centre, East Village reflects their commitment to offering something more considered than traditional childcare. It is a place where education, environment and relationships are thoughtfully curated to support each child’s development in a meaningful and lasting way.

Robyn brings over 12 years of experience as Director of Woollahra Little School, where she established a strong reputation for delivering high quality and well led early learning environments. Central to her leadership is a distinctive and highly regarded approach to curriculum.

Robyn’s curriculum moves beyond standard programming, focusing instead on depth, continuity and intention. Each child is carefully observed and understood, with learning experiences thoughtfully extended over time to build confidence, independence and genuine engagement. This approach creates a richer and more meaningful learning journey, supporting not only school readiness but also a strong sense of identity, curiosity and capability.

Families are often drawn to this considered approach, recognising the difference in how children are supported, guided and genuinely known within the environment.

As both an experienced Director and a mother, Robyn brings a rare combination of professional expertise and personal insight. As an on site owner, she is present within the centre each day, ensuring a consistent standard of care, strong relationships and a calm and well run environment.

Mia’s connection to early childhood education is lifelong. Having grown up within a family deeply embedded in the sector, with her mother owning Vaucluse Little School for 28 years and later Woollahra Little School, she has developed a natural understanding of high quality care and what truly supports children to thrive.

Beginning her career while still in Year 12, Mia has gained valuable hands on experience as an educator and has spent recent years working closely alongside Robyn, refining her knowledge and approach to early education.

Mia also played an integral role in the design of East Village Early Education. From the selection of resources to the overall layout, every element has been intentionally chosen to create a space that feels calm, light filled and inspiring, supporting children’s independence, creativity and sense of belonging

Together, Mia and Robyn recognised the East Village location as a rare opportunity to bring their vision to life. The result is a thoughtfully designed early learning environment that balances warmth, quality and a genuine sense of care.

Mia works closely within the preschool room, delivering a program that thoughtfully blends play based learning with a strong focus on school readiness, supporting children to transition to school with confidence, capability and a love of learning.

As on site owners, Mia and Robyn are actively involved in the day to day life of the centre. Their presence ensures a level of consistency, care and attention to detail that is often difficult to achieve in larger corporate settings.

East Village Early Education is, at its heart, a place where children are known, supported and inspired, and where families feel a genuine sense of trust and connection from the moment they walk through the door.
